ClearSignal: Bot Traffic Detection for Shopify

Effective date: September 24, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ClearSignal ("the App"), operated by Alpenglow Software LLC ("we," "us," "our"). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.

1. Service Description

ClearSignal is a Shopify app that detects bot traffic that may be polluting your store's analytics. The App combines client-side browser fingerprinting (via FingerprintJS BotD), web pixel event capture, IP reputation scoring, and behavioral signal analysis to classify storefront sessions as bot or human traffic. Results are displayed in a merchant dashboard and can be used to understand the true composition of your store's traffic.

The App operates in reporting and classification mode only. ClearSignal does not block visitors, modify storefront behavior, alter your store's theme, or change settings in any external analytics platform. All actions based on bot classifications are performed by you, the merchant.

The App also offers an optional Klaviyo integration that audits Klaviyo profiles for bot-like activity and applies tags to suspected bot profiles, enabling you to exclude them from campaigns. Activating this integration requires you to complete a Klaviyo OAuth authorization flow.

2. Eligibility

The App is available to Shopify merchants with an active Shopify store. You must have appropriate permissions to install apps on your store. By installing the App, you represent that you are authorized to do so on behalf of the store owner.
