FraudPilot: High-risk order review for Shopify

Effective date: October 12, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of FraudPilot ("the App"), operated by Alpenglow Software LLC ("we," "us," "our"). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.

1. Service Description

FraudPilot is a Shopify app that gives you a human-review queue for orders that Shopify's risk engine flags as medium or high risk. The App enriches each flagged order with the order facts, Shopify's own risk signals, geographic and network context, order velocity, and your own prior decisions for the same buyer, so you can review a risky order in one place. You then record your decision (approve, cancel, or tag), and the App keeps an immutable, append-only decision log that you can export as chargeback-representment evidence. You can also look up any order from the last 60 days by its number to see Shopify's risk details for it. The App also watches the number of abandoned checkouts on your store and warns you on its home page when there is an unusual burst, which can be a sign of card testing.

The App operates in review, enrichment, and record-keeping mode, with one exception: when you record a Tag decision, the App adds the tag fraudpilot-review to that order in Shopify (once your store has approved the write_orders permission). The App makes that change only when you click Tag. It does not cancel, hold, edit, refund, or fulfill orders; it does not block or decline any order or customer; and it does not make any automated decision about an order. Recording an Approve or Cancel decision in FraudPilot does not carry that action out in Shopify; you complete it in the Shopify Admin. Every decision recorded in the App is one you made.

What FraudPilot is not. FraudPilot is not a fraud-prevention guarantee, fraud insurance, or a chargeback-protection service. It does not guarantee that you will win any chargeback or dispute. It is not an automatic order canceller, an order-blocking tool, or a country/IP blocker. It is a decision-support and record-keeping tool that equips you to decide and to document your decision; the judgment, the action, and the outcome remain yours.

2. Eligibility

The App is available to Shopify merchants with an active Shopify store. You must have appropriate permissions to install apps on your store. By installing the App, you represent that you are authorized to do so on behalf of the store owner.
